About Us

Byson Construction Inc. is a licensed general building contractor (CA License #1075562, Class B). We handle custom homes, additions, remodels, decks, and commercial renovations. We give clear estimates and keep clients informed from start to finish, so there are no surprises along the way.

We start every project by listening to what the client needs, then match the design, schedule, and budget to it. For specialized work such as design and structural engineering, we bring in licensed partners.

Byson’s work is guided by Sali Mahmoodi (Owner), who brings years of construction project management experience. Before Byson, he managed large public education construction projects overseas for an international construction firm, with contract values up to $140 million. He brings the same discipline in planning, safety, and quality control to every Byson project, from a single room addition to a full custom home.

Custom Single-Family Home, Elk Grove, CA

We built this custom 3,800 sq. ft. home from the ground up to match the client’s plans for comfort, function, and modern design. The work covered everything from the foundation and framing to the final finishes, with quality checks at each stage. The home was completed on schedule through careful planning and coordination of every trade.

Balcony Reconstruction, 60-Unit Multi-Family, Sacramento, CA

• Scope: Rebuilding nine second-story balconies

Years of failed waterproofing and inadequate drainage had taken a serious toll on nine second-story balconies, causing extensive wood rot and deterioration of critical structural components. What began as a moisture problem had developed into a significant safety concern requiring professional structural rehabilitation.

Byson Construction took on the challenge, working closely with a licensed structural engineer to execute a comprehensive repair plan. Our team restored the damaged supporting structures, addressed the underlying deterioration, and completed the work in accordance with engineered specifications and Sacramento County building code requirements.

This project demonstrates Byson Construction’s expertise in complex structural repairs, where precision workmanship, engineering coordination, and long-term safety are essential.

Lakeview Remodel, San Ramon, CA

• Home: 2-story, 1,960 sq. ft.

An interior designer designed a modern, minimalist renovation for the new owners of this San Ramon home and hired Byson Construction to build it. We worked closely with NRK’s designers to turn their plans into finished spaces.

Grape Street Bedroom Addition, Roseville, CA

• Client: Private homeowner
• Size: 300 sq. ft.

As their family grew, these homeowners needed additional living space without leaving the home they loved. Byson Construction delivered a thoughtfully designed and expertly built 300-square-foot addition, featuring a spacious new bedroom and closet at the rear of their single-story residence.

Our goal was to make the new addition feel like it had always been part of the home. From the exterior siding, textures, and paint colors to the interior finishes and architectural details, every element was carefully matched to the existing structure.

The result is a beautiful, functional expansion that provides the family with much-needed space while preserving the home’s original character and architectural continuity.

Folsom Lake Decking, Folsom, CA

• Size: 1,800 sq. ft. of decking across three levels
• Completion time: 2 months

This hillside home had an aging deck on three levels. We removed and hauled away the old structure, then built a new pressure-treated frame. We installed new waterproofing and flashing along the house to protect it from moisture.

The new deck is finished with TimberTech premium composite boards and modern railing that keeps the view open.

Market & Restaurant, Concord, CA

• Type: Commercial, restaurant and grocery store
• Size: About 6,000 sq. ft.
• Completed: January 2024

We renovated an older building in Concord into a combined restaurant and grocery store, keeping its original character. The work included structural reinforcement, new wall partitions, upgraded flooring, and a layout planned for both uses.

We upgrade, flooring, plumbing, and electrical systems for the kitchen, customer areas, and installed store equipments. The project passed inspection at every phase. It was completed on schedule and within the client’s budget

Hotel Elevator Addition, Placerville, CA

• Client: Hotel owner (name “Best Western” only with the owner’s OK)
• Type: Commercial, new elevator serving three floors
• Timeline: 2025 to 2026

Byson Construction successfully completed a new three-story elevator addition at an existing hotel in Placerville, overcoming significant structural challenges, difficult site conditions, and strict safety requirements.

One of the most demanding phases involved deep excavation immediately adjacent to the existing building, with surrounding foundations standing approximately 10 feet high. This presented substantial risks to the stability of the existing structure and required careful planning, excavation control, and coordination with the structural engineer. Limited access prevented the use of heavy machinery, requiring excavation debris to be removed manually, making the operation exceptionally labor-intensive and challenging.

Our team managed the project from structural construction through final finishes, coordinating closely with the elevator installer, structural engineer, and fire alarm contractor to meet applicable building codes and inspection requirements.

The scope included smoke-rated elevator entrance doors, a one-hour fire-rated machine room door, electrical upgrades, HVAC ductwork relocation, and a groundwater sump pump system. Final improvements included elevator lobby lighting, painting, trim, tile repairs, and carpet tile flooring.
